On 5 November, AIPA Secretary General Nguyen Tuong Van received a courtesy call (via zoom) from Mr. Alexandre Faite, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Jakarta. Both sides discussed the possibility for a cooperation between the ASEAN parliamentarians and ICRC on humanitarian issues with the focus on Humanitarian Law, and its relation to other fields especially economic area.

On 29 October 2020, Secretary General Nguyen Tuong Van attended the Briefing on Making Wildlife Traffickers Finance Wildlife Recovery, at the invitation of Mr. Steve Galster, International Chair, Executive Director of FREELAND. FREELAND introduced a Restitution report focusing on using restitution and supplementary sentencing measures to require wildlife offenders to pay for the harm they have caused on wildlife, ecosystems, and local communities.

The ASEAN Secretariat hosted the 4th Forum of Entities Associated with ASEAN. The Forum kicked off with an overview of the impact of the COVID19 pandemic in ASEAN, post-pandemic recovery framework and the current mid-term review under the ASEAN Community Blueprints. This was followed by breakout sessions where participants shared their on-the-ground views on the progress of ASEAN Vision 2025 and possible areas for improvement. There are currently 75 Entities associated with ASEAN. They are categorised into parliamentarians and judiciary, business organisations, think tank and academic institutions, civil society organisations, and other stakeholders.
