Did you know? ASEAN’s population has surpassed 650 million and is projected to reach 800 million by 2050. With this significant growth, the demand for food, forestry products, and fisheries will rise substantially. This highlights the critical need for responsible investment in food and agriculture, which can drive positive socioeconomic and environmental outcomes such as improved food security and nutrition, better-protected ecosystems, and more sustainable use of natural resources. Responsible investment also upholds and promotes human rights, including the right to adequate food and the rights of local communities.
🌏 Recognising this, AIPA is collaborating with the FAO and IISD to organise the 3rd AIPA-FAO-IISD Joint Event on December 12, 2024, in Jakarta, Indonesia. This event continues AIPA’s commitment to advancing sustainable development in ASEAN. By bringing together parliamentarians, stakeholders, and experts, it will strengthen partnerships and accelerate the implementation of the ASEAN RAI Framework. Stay tuned for updates on how this milestone event will shape a more resilient and sustainable future for ASEAN! 💡
