In an effort to robust the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs) under the United Nations Agenda 2030 in the regional level, especially Goal 4 “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”, the Vietnam National Assembly hosted AIPA Conference.
On 23 July 2020, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to ASEAN Quadia Benabdellah had a virtual meeting with the AIPA Secretary General Nguyen Tuong Van to reiterate Morocco’s keen interest in pursuing Observer status in AIPA.
The Rakyat Post, Malaysian media portal (04/04) reported that during the COVID-19 pandemic there was 27% surge of medical waste in Malaysia in March this year, a significant increase by 10% from the previous month. In Jakarta, the surge was by 30%, according to Berita Satu (Indonesian digital news channel) published on 22/04.
Leaders of ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) will hold a teleconferenced dialogue today, during which they will show their commitment to enhancing solidarity within the bloc and its relations with partners to cope with challenges and build a sustainable community.

The 2nd People’s Parliament held the 4th day meeting of the 17th regular session on Tuesday in Nay Pyi Taw.
Extension of the term of Advisory Group on Parliamentary Capacity-building was presented to the Parliament. Parliamentarians enquired about plans including systematic formation of centers for orphans and abandoned children and long-term cash assistance for senior citizens.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced a new Cabinet on Saturday (Jul 25). In total, the new Cabinet will have 37 political office holders, the same as the previous Cabinet.
The ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN (ERIA) held on Monday (13/7/2020) a virtual meeting “Online Joint Dialogue on Waste Management in the Context of COVID-19 Pandemic” to implement the 40th AIPA General Assembly resolutions on waste management in ASEAN countries to achieve sustainable development goals.
