Leaders of ASEAN countries and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) will hold a teleconferenced dialogue today, during which they will show their commitment to enhancing solidarity within the bloc and its relations with partners to cope with challenges and build a sustainable community.
AIPA Member Parliament unanimously agreed to hold the 3rd AIPACODD (AIPA Advisory Council on Dangerous Drugs) for the first time in virtual format. The event was hosted by the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the leaders of ASEAN and AIPA joined for the first time the virtual ASEAN-AIPA Interface at the ASEAN 36th Summit on 26 June 2020. The event was hosted by Vietnam.

The ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with Representatives of AIPA as part of the virtual 36th ASEAN Summit on June 26 was a success particularly in terms of the government – parliament connection, said Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Committee for External Relations Nguyen Van Giau on the sideline of the event.
The 3rd meeting of the AIPA (ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly) Advisory Council on Dangerous Drugs (AIPACODD) was held online on June 29 with a view to helping enhance regional cooperation towards a drug-free ASEAN community.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. (H.C.) Puan Maharani attended the annual agenda of AIPA – ASEAN Leaders’ Interface.
The President also emphasized the importance of cooperation among ASEAN member states in overcoming past and present challenges.
