As parliamentarians play a critical role in setting policy direction, women’s political participation is a fundamental prerequisite for gender equality. Following the adopted resolution in the 44th AIPA General Assembly on Enhancing ASEAN Resilience Through Women Leadership and Gender-Responsive Parliaments, the AIPA Secretariat convenes the First Workshop on the development of a Plan of Action on Promoting Women’s Political Participation. In collaboration with the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI), UN Women, and USAID the workshop takes place in Jakarta, from 9 to 12 October 2023. #ouraipaourasean #WAIPA #WomenPoliticalParticipation
