From 23 to 27 March 2024, the Secretary-General of AIPA participated in the 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Under the theme “Parliamentary Diplomacy: Building Bridges for Peace and Understanding”, the Assembly gathered parliamentarians from across the world with the aim of enhancing parliamentary diplomacy, fostering increased parliamentary dialogue, and promoting actions towards peace. 8 AIPA Member Parliaments; Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam, were participating in the IPU Assembly. The Secretary General of AIPA also had the opportunity to speak before the Assembly during the General Debate and make an intervention at the Parity Debate, emphasizing the importance of empowering women in politics to drive economic inclusion and advance broader socio-economic development objectives. #ouraipaourasean #IPU148
