The workshop began with opening remarks by the AIPA Secretary General, Head of Cooperation from the Embassy of Canada, the UN Women Country Representative to Indonesia and Liason ASEAN, and the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to ASEAN. About 29 parliamentarians and legislative experts across seven ASEAN Member States have gathered in Jakarta on 9-12 October 2023. This includes invited speakers from the National Parliament of Timor-Leste, ASEAN Secretariat, the ASEAN Committee on Women, and Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD).
