With an estimated 224.2 million individuals aged between 15 and 35 as of 2020, youth hold immense potential in Southeast Asia. However, they remain significantly underrepresented in legislative bodies, with only 21.18% of ASEAN’s legislative members being young parliamentarians. Recognizing the vital role of youth in shaping the social, political, and economic landscapes of ASEAN, AIPA is dedicated to boosting youth participation, engagement, and representation.
