The First Tripartite Forum was hosted by the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in collaboration with the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) and the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) of Brunei Darussalam on 10 June 2024, in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam. Supported by the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the event adopted the theme “Building a Vibrant Digital Economy in ASEAN: Strategies for Cyber Resilience and Shared Prosperity.”

The forum successfully brought together over 400 participants, including parliamentarians, business leaders, and government officials from across ASEAN. Attendees engaged in four panel discussions throughout the day, covering topics such as ASEAN’s Digital Economy, Digital Transformation and Sustainability, the Cyber Security Landscape, and Building Public-Private Partnerships for Cyber Resilience.

Building on the first Tripartite Forum, the second edition shifted the conversation under the theme “Bridging the Gap: Ensuring Affordability, Reliability, and Sustainability in Renewable Energy.” Four panel discussions were held in support of ASEAN’s net-zero emissions goals, covering energy security, financing and investment mechanisms, technological advancement, and practical pathways for advancing renewable energy across the region.

Co-hosted by the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Parliament of Malaysia, and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the Forum brought together 90 participants, including parliamentarians, policymakers, and private sector representatives, with over 1,000 additional participants joining online via the AIPA Secretariat and Parliament of Malaysia YouTube channels.
