A historic milestone for our region 🇹🇱🤝 On 26 October 2025, the Signing of the Declaration on the Admission of Timor-Leste into ASEAN took place at the Opening Ceremony of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits. This momentous occasion signifies ASEAN Leaders’ collective consent to welcome Timor-Leste as the 11th Member State of ASEAN. A quick throwback: Timor-Leste’s journey toward ASEAN membership began in 2011, followed by its Observer Status in 2022 and the adoption of the Roadmap for Timor-Leste’s Full Membership in 2023. This signing marks the culmination of years of close cooperation, dedication, and shared aspiration. A true testament to ASEAN unity and inclusiveness.
