The AIPA Secretariat Attachment Program is an internship opportunity for final-year students or fresh graduates across the ASEAN region and beyond. This program is designed to give practical experience and first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment on a wide range of AIPA activities.
The AIPA Secretariat offers an attachment program in various areas and working units, including the Directorate of Committees, Directorate of Stakeholders’ Engagement and Resource Mobilization, Directorate of Finance and Administration, Directorate of Information & Communication Technology as well as Parliamentary and Community Relations.
As part of the team, interns will be allowed to attend the AIPA meetings, participate in workshops and seminars, and contribute to the analytical and administrative work of the AIPA Secretariat. Interns will also receive monthly remuneration and a certificate of completion at the end of the attachment program.

This batch’s attachment program will provide placement opportunities as follows:
- Intern under the Directorate of Committees
- The Intern will work on-site (Offline) at the AIPA Secretariat Office in Jakarta from 3 August – 3 December 2026 (4 months internship period). He/she will assist and support the Directorate of Committees
General Qualification and Requirement
- University graduates with a degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Global Governance, Law, or related disciplines.
- Minimum one year of relevant working experience, which may include internships, volunteer programs, or part-time roles in relevant fields
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in other ASEAN languages is an added advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt effectively to a dynamic, multicultural, and international workplace.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, such as Word and Excel.
- Proactive attitude, with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.
Specific Qualification and Requirement
- Demonstrated experience or familiarity with project management processes, including planning, coordination, and implementation of activities.
- Excellent reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and well-structured reports.
- Ability to develop visual materials, presentations, and infographics using tools like Canva or other relevant software.
- Strong research skills, including the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to support projects and reporting.
Proficiency in developing concept notes, project proposals, and other related documents.

- Ability to develop visual materials, presentations, and infographics using Canva or other relevant design tools.
- Familiarity with drafting concept notes, project proposals, meeting reports, and other related documents is an advantage.
Knowledge of ASEAN and AIPA will be considered an asset.
