On 24 September 2010, the Parliament of India was accredited as an Observer of AIPA during the 31st AIPA General Assembly, held in Ha Noi, Viet Nam, from 19 to 25 September 2010.

With Observer Status, India and AIPA gained an avenue to engage more closely and contribute to parliamentary dialogue on issues of shared interest.

The accreditation reaffirmed AIPA’s commitment to expanding inter-parliamentary engagement and building stronger connections with partners beyond Southeast Asia.
