On 21 September 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, had a meeting with H.E. Nadjiba Djilali, Minister of Relations with Parliament of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, during a series of high-level engagements in Algeria.

The meeting provided a unique opportunity to exchange views on AIPA–Algeria meaningful engagement, the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and inter-parliamentary cooperation as well as discussing issues of common concern including energy security, economic and trade, climate change, women, and youth.
