On 15 July 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, welcomed a parliamentary delegation from the South Asia Regional Parliamentary Forum (SARPF) for Climate, Energy and Environment during a courtesy call at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The delegation comprised Honourable Members of Parliament from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, together with the SARPF Secretariat, marking the first engagement between AIPA and SARPF.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, with discussions centred on climate change, including energy transition, climate adaptation and resilience, and sustainable development.
