H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary General of AIPA, received a delegation from Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY) at the ASEAN Headquarters in Jakarta, Indonesia on 15 July 2026.

During the visit, he delivered a keynote address on “AIPA’s Parliamentary Diplomacy in Advancing Regional Peacebuilding and Confidence-Building in ASEAN,” highlighting the role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting regional peace, fostering trust, and strengthening ASEAN cooperation. The programme also featured an interactive dialogue, providing participants with the opportunity to engage directly with the Secretary General and exchange perspectives on key regional issues.
