At the 46ᵗʰ AIPA General Assembly in Kuala Lumpur, the AIPA Presidency was officially transferred from the Parliament of Malaysia to the House of Representatives of the Philippines. The signing of the Instrument of Transfer was carried out by H.E. Tan Sri Dato’ (Dr.) Johari bin Abdul, President of AIPA and Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, and H.E. Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, followed by an acceptance speech delivered by Hon. Raymond Democrito C. Mendoza, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, and a video presentation welcoming the Philippines as the incoming AIPA Presidency. The AIPA Secretariat extends its warmest congratulations to the House of Representatives of the Philippines, and looks forward to working closely together in advancing ASEAN’s vision of a Resilient, Innovative, Dynamic, and People-Centred Community, while strengthening AIPA’s role in promoting inclusive growth, sustainability, unity in diversity, and stronger parliamentary cooperation.
