The Parliament of Malaysia, as the AIPA Presidency for 2025, successfully hosted the 4th Meeting of the Coordinating Committee of Women Parliamentarians of AIPA (WAIPA) in Kuching, Sarawak, from 21 to 24 April 2025. Held under the theme “Steering Innovation, Inclusivity and Diversity through Gender-Balanced Parliaments for a Future-Ready ASEAN,” the meeting gathered delegates from AIPA Member Parliaments to explore how gender-balanced representation can drive innovation, promote inclusivity, and enhance ASEAN’s resilience in facing future challenges. In the spirit of shared commitment, AIPA Member Parliaments reaffirmed their support for the Plan of Action and Implementation Framework on Women’s Political Participation and Leadership. The meeting also featured dynamic dialogues to champion collaboration and drive sustainable progress towards gender equality.
