On 29 July 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), conveyed a congratulatory letter to H.E. Khalida Boufedèche on the occasion of Her Excellency’s historic appointment as the first woman to serve as President of the National People’s Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.

In the letter, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya expressed his confidence that, under H.E. Boufedèche’s leadership, the National People’s Assembly of Algeria will continue to advance the aspirations of the Algerian people while strengthening its engagement in international parliamentary cooperation.
