On 23 September 1999, the Kingdom of Cambodia was officially admitted as a member of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Organisation (AIPO), later transformed into the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) in 2007, during the 20th AIPO General Assembly, held in Manila, the Philippines.

Since then, Cambodia has continued to contribute to advancing parliamentary dialogue, cooperation, and solidarity among ASEAN Member Parliaments, supporting the shared vision of a more united, peaceful, and resilient ASEAN.
