On 20 October 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, received a courtesy call by Hon. Dr. Malte Kaufmann, Chairman of the ASEAN Parliamentary Group in the German Bundestag, accompanied by a delegation of Members of the German Bundestag, at the AIPA Secretariat Office.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for both organisations to share updates on their ongoing and upcoming meetings and initiatives, particularly the 47th AIPA General Assembly. Both sides also exchanged views on shared concerns, including the importance of upholding international law and order to maintain peace and security. The meeting further underscored the growing role of parliamentary diplomacy in navigating regional and global challenges.
