On 18 February 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Dr. Syahrul Aidi Maazat, Chairperson of the Committee for Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, and Hon. Ravindra Airlangga, Vice Chair of the Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia.

The meeting exchanged updates on AIPA Meetings and initiatives under the Philippine AIPA Presidency, as well as the preparations for the 17th AIPA Caucus to be hosted by the House of Representatives of Indonesia. The discussion also addressed the unprecedented challenges facing ASEAN, including geopolitical shifts, protectionism, transnational threats, climate change, and rapid technological advancement, highlighting the importance of continuous constructive dialogue and proactive parliamentary diplomacy to strengthen ASEAN unity and resilience.
