From 30 October to 1 November 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, participated in the Japan–ASEAN Forum on Security Governance, Justice, and Regional Resilience for Women Parliamentarians, organised by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Tokyo, Japan.

The Forum provided a platform for dialogue on the role of women parliamentarians in addressing emerging regional security challenges, promoting inclusive security governance, justice, and community resilience, as well as advancing the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda through regional cooperation. Discussions highlighted the importance of education, capacity development, and inclusive leadership, alongside the role of parliamentarians in translating regional priorities into concrete actions that strengthen peace, security, and resilience at the community level.
