On 22 October 2026, the AIPA Secretariat held a Trilateral Meeting with the House of Representatives of the Republic of the Philippines and the ASEAN Secretariat to discuss preparations for the 5th AIPA–ASEAN Hearing, to be convened on 18 November 2026 in Manila in conjunction with the 47th AIPA General Assembly. The Hearing will be held under the theme “Strengthening AIPA–ASEAN Institutional Relations under ASEAN Community Vision 2045.”

The meeting focused on the Hearing’s key discussion areas, priorities and expected outcomes, as well as coordination among the three institutions to ensure its effective preparation. Discussions also covered the engagement of the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) in the Hearing. The meeting reaffirmed the importance of strengthening parliamentary engagement in ASEAN affairs and fostering closer synergy between regional commitments and national parliamentary action in support of ASEAN Community Vision 2045.
