Intern Vacancy

The AIPA Secretariat Attachment Program is an internship opportunity for final-year students or fresh graduates across the ASEAN region and beyond. This program is designed to give practical experience and first-hand impression of the day-to-day working environment on a wide range of AIPA activities.

The AIPA Secretariat offers an attachment program in various areas and working units, including the Directorate of Committees, Directorate of Stakeholders’ Engagement and Resource Mobilization, Directorate of Finance and Administration, as well as Directorate of Information & Communication Technology.

As part of the team, interns will be allowed to attend the AIPA meetings, participate in workshops and seminars, and contribute to the analytical and administrative work of the AIPA Secretariat. Interns will also receive monthly remuneration and a certificate of completion at the end of the attachment program.

The AIPA Secretariat invites applications for its 4-month internship program, taking place from July to November 2025. The program offers a professional environment to gain practical experience in regional cooperation and parliamentary diplomacy within ASEAN.

Interns in this batch will also have the opportunity to be involved in the preparations and meetings of the AIPA General Assembly 2025.

The internship will be conducted on-site at the AIPA Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia, with a hybrid arrangement available for those residing outside Jakarta.

This opportunity is open to nationals of all ASEAN Member States.

We are looking for:

  • Intern under the Directorate of Finance, Legal and Administration.

General Qualification and Requirement

  • University graduates with a degree in a relevant field such as Economy, Accounting, International Relations, Law, Political Science, Global Governance, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum one year of relevant working experience, which may include internships, volunteer programs, or part-time roles in relevant fields.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt effectively to a dynamic, multicultural, and international workplace.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Proactive attitude, with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn, adapt, and grow professionally.

Specific Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient in reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and well-structured reports.
  • Ability to develop visual materials, presentations, and infographics using tools like Canva or other relevant software.
  • Strong research skills, including the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret data from various sources to support reporting
