AIPA and the Legislative Council of Brunei Darussalam, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture,Youth and Sports (MCYS) and UN Women, successfully hosted the National Parliamentary Dialogue on Promoting Women’s Political Participation and Leadership (WPPL) on 18 June 2025 in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam.
Held in conjunction with Brunei Mid-Year Converence & Exhibition (MYCE) 2025, the dialogue brought together Members of the Legislative Council, relevant ministries, and civil society organisations across Brunei Darussalam to foster cross-sectoral collaboration in advancing women’s empowerment in leadership and decision-making processes. As the first national-level initiative following the adoption of the WAIPA Plan of Action and Implementation Framework on WPPL, the dialogue represents a concrete step towards translating regional commitments into action through coordinated efforts and shared national ownership.
