On 25 May 2026, the AIPA Secretariat conducted an Executive Briefing with Members of Parliament and the Secretariat of the National Parliament of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste at the National Parliament in Dili, Timor-Leste. The programme served as a platform to enhance understanding of AIPA’s institutional framework, key meetings, as well as its ongoing projects and initiatives, while reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthening parliamentary cooperation within ASEAN and supporting Timor-Leste’s application to become a permanent member of AIPA following its accession to ASEAN in October 2025.
