On 25 June 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, hosted a commemorative lunch with H.E. Wang Qing, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to ASEAN, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The occasion provided an opportunity to reaffirm the longstanding meaningful relations between AIPA and the National People’s Congress of China, particularly as the year 2026 marks the 35th anniversary of the National People’s Congress of China as an Observer of AIPA, as well as the 5th Anniversary of the ASEAN–China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and the 35th anniversary of ASEAN-China relationship.
During the discussion, both sides also exchanged views on recent global developments and issues of mutual interest, shared updates on their respective activities, and explored opportunities to further strengthen meaningful parliamentary cooperation in the future.
