On 15 April 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, had a bilateral meeting with H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, and Hon. Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, on the sidelines of the 152nd IPU Assembly in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The discussion served as an opportunity to exchange views on regional and global developments, while exploring avenues to enhance collaboration through AIPA’s platforms and initiatives.

The Parliament of Georgia was first granted Observer Status by AIPA in 2022, during the 43rd AIPA General Assembly in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
