On 28 August 2026, H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya, Secretary-General of AIPA, conveyed his deepest condolences on the passing of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway.

H.E. Dr. Chem Widhya expressed his profound sorrow and paid tribute to His Majesty’s long and dedicated service to the Kingdom of Norway and its people, highlighting His Majesty’s commitment to public service, greater openness and modernity, and His steadfast presence during times of national difficulty. He also recognised His Majesty’s wisdom, humility, sense of duty, and deep devotion to Norway.

AIPA extends its deepest condolences to the Royal Family of Norway and the people of the Kingdom of Norway. His Majesty King Harald V’s long reign was marked by dedicated service, stability, and a deep commitment to the well-being of the Norwegian people.
