We are deeply saddened by the passing of H.E. Xaysomphone Phomvihane, President of the National Assembly of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
Having served as President of AIPA from 2023 to 2024, he provided visionary leadership during Lao PDR’s AIPA Presidency and contributed greatly to strengthening parliamentary cooperation and advancing the shared aspirations of ASEAN.
H.E. Xaysomphone Phomvihane devoted his life, wisdom and strength to the development of his nation and to the well-being and prosperity of the people of Lao PDR. His dedication to public service and his commitment to parliamentary cooperation will remain an enduring part of his legacy.
