Thailand: Hon. Mr. Natchanon Srikokuea, Member of the House of Representatives, Bhumjaithai Party, made a statement on the “Disposable Face Masks for Eggs Campaign”

On Tuesday 13th July 2021, at 12.20 hrs., at press conference room, 1st floor, Parliament Building, Hon. Mr. Natchanon Srikokuea, Member of the House of Representatives, Bhumjaithai Party, expressed his statement on the “Disposable Face Masks for Eggs Campaign”. Due to the fact that Songkhla Province was classified as dark red zone and many face masks were discarded after use, resulting in residual waste. The Na Thawi Municipality Office, Na Thawi District, Songkhla Province has been piloting the mentioned project, by asking people to put 3 pieces of disposable face masks into plastic bags, wrap and tie the bags firmly, then, dispose them to an infectious trash provided by the municipality for exchanging 1 egg.

After that, the Municipality will deliver all of disposable face masks to the Faculty of Environmental Management, Prince of Songkla University to disinfect and dispose. The campaign was supervised by the public health and environmental authorities. If province or municipality would like to integrate this project in their own area, it can be implemented. At the same time, we would like to send our encouragement to all people to get through this crisis together.
