The 2nd People’s Parliament held the 4th day meeting of the 17th regular session on Tuesday in Nay Pyi Taw.
Extension of the term of Advisory Group on Parliamentary Capacity-building was presented to the Parliament. Parliamentarians enquired about plans including systematic formation of centers for orphans and abandoned children and long-term cash assistance for senior citizens.
Also, questions were raised on plans to build a creek-crossing bridge in MongNgun Village-tract in Kengtung and to supply sufficient drinking water in PanSaung Township.
A proposal was submitted which urged the National-Level Central Committee for Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) or relevant ministries to discuss with microfinance enterprises to suspend loan repayment and to excuse interest and lower the rates to 50 % during COVID-19 period. The Parliament announced receipt of microfinance bill and Protection of the citizen for the personal freedom and personal security bill amended and submitted by National Parliament.
