On 5 November, AIPA Secretary General Nguyen Tuong Van received a courtesy call (via zoom) from Mr. Alexandre Faite, Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Jakarta. Both sides discussed the possibility for a cooperation between the ASEAN parliamentarians and ICRC on humanitarian issues with the focus on Humanitarian Law, and its relation to other fields especially economic area. Mr. Alexandre Faite also expressed his desire to share with AIPA the Handbook on Humanitarian Law that was jointly launched by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and ICRC.
